Any thoughts. It was found on multi-component site. It's not quite as thick as a quarter. Maybe brass. No writing that I see. Google said Chinese coin and on a internet site they showed these to be saddle rosettes.

Maybe an adjustment knob that mounted on a square shaft?

square hole usually makes me think of a square shouldered Carriage Bolt. Possibly what’s known as a fender washer.

I would think if an adjustment knob it would have a reeded or machined edge.
I have found very similar and unsure.

It is true that a drawer pull backplate is usually somewhat convex, where these are flat.

not a coin... sometimes the new tech falls pretty flat!

Maybe this is it.
The middle or back disc to a multi piece Military insignia pin.
There would be a screw on back.
Some are flat. Some are slightly domed.
