Hello all, I just pulled this out of my electrolysis bucket. I originally dug it under a house in Downtown Charleston. I was wondering if anyone had any clue as to what it is? I have found buttons from the 1790s, to stuff from the 1890's. Thanks!

if its a downspout or gutter hook, how would it attach the building, considering the shape of the end - flat and tunede

sickle hook for a downspout. for brick, concrete, wood walls.the tailend would be 3 inches long would be driven in at the end of the curve of the hook is a little ledge you would hit with a hammer, you would need a star drill like a chisel to start the hole for it.used many ,I was a roofer at one time .vanzutphen
