Help with id old carving from Hungary

I know this is an international site sndam posting this for an hungarian friend.
3” Antique ivory carving. I suspect over 800 years old from Hungary.
any ideas?

The hole to me implies it was attached to something. Maybe a pendant, charm, or amulet. Another theory maybe part of a headdress.

Looking at it more, it sort of reminds me of something being Inuit related. Could also just be my mind wandering

Seems to be an amulet of some sort, but it looks Southeast Asian to me. Just an impression. Very cool.

The image appears to be an animal placing or removing a crown from the head of a person.

I found references to a Hungarian folktale called "The Fox Princess" but couldn't find any history on it

The item is small. Possibly a fancy "gum stick" for teething babies - sometimes made of ivory.

Very Interresting.

I have a suggestion for taking images with a smartphone. The images are probably blurry from being too close to the item when taking the image. I've done the same thing, gotten too close and the image on the screen looks clear. But when I get them to my computer to look at them they are blurry.

I've learned to keep back from the object and zoom in by touching the screen with two fingers and "spreading" the fingers apart.

Would love to see some clear images of your item.

we need some better pictures, and take good pictures of both sides and pics of the hole at the top. Also why do you suspect if to be from Hungary and 800 years old? Did someone tell you this, or was it your own research that lead to that assumption? What is the back story, where was it found and purchased/changed hands? All this info will help get a better ID.
