I found a rock. It is black and shiny just looking at it and when an led light is put under it its a really dark purple with little specs in it and other then the edges is a lighter purple. I tried to post a photo but i cant figure it out on this kindle fire.. will try and post a picture later or tomorrow. Figured maybe this would be enough to maybe identify it

Ya its not flint and its about an 1/8 -1/4 inch thick kinda tapers off a bit and what characteristics does tourmaline have? Pics online somewhat resemble that also. Im gonna look up sea glass and see if it has a resemblace to my piece im still workin on getting a pic with the light shining through it

Sea glass has the wrong texture from what im seeing and the bubbles are not like the dirt or whatever is incased in my rock.

Depending on how much silica is in the piece plenty of light passes through certain types of obsidian.

I have a lot of obsidian that has light & dark striations in it. You can only see them when held against a light. I have had hours of fun just looking through them. & yes I guess I am easily entertained.
