this was found in Menominee, MI. It is slightly larger than a quarter and appears to be made of brass as there is no corrosion. It is stamped the same on both sides. What is it?

Looks like a late 1800s or early 1900s city dog license tag but since there isn't a hole to fit on a ring not quite sure. Imo.

There's no way if it were brass and that old it would be in that good of shape I think it's a lot more modern and it looks like a brass tag from a mine something that would be in the brass Shack each individual miner would have one I don't understand why theres no hole punched in it..but maybe they didn't hand theirs.

Maybe an old Bar Token /Chip ? 4 beer's at 25 cent's ??? or Store token w/ same trade value ? just a Guess ... Def. looks like a Token of some sort to Me :occasion14:

This is a guess from a distant memory and may be considered an avenue for research.

Stock auction token

lot 4 animal #25.....would be distributed during field auction and redeemed at payment time for animal(horse etc.)It is very cool for sure.
