Hello everyone,

I wanted to see if anyone could help identify the touchmark ( +o+ ) on this c.1600s folding pocket knife found along the Main River near Frankfurt, Germany. It's believed to be a soldier's knife from the 30 Years War in Central Europe per the antique shop owner where the knife was bought (Antique shop in Amsterdam). The handle is made from horn.

Thanks for the help,

Your knife is traditionally known as a 'Folding Travel Cutlery Knife' and looks to be 17thc in date.

This folding knife is of a style similar to those made in Southern Germany, probably in the area of Augsburg.
The monogram engraved on the blade will be that of the maker.
