Just checking in, saying hi from NW NJ. Very new to all this, reading as much as I can. Haven't even decided what brand/model I'm going to end up going with. My only experience so far has been an older Whites underwater model I used to mess around with at work when I was still working at Dutch Springs in PA.

Welcome to the forum, I'm new to the forum also. Most all of today's detectors are very good and get good depth. What you have to do is learn the the detector it's sounds and get in as much time in the field with it as you can. Whites are good detectors as well. Good luck and happy hunting
