Hi there, I have recently discovered this "hobby" I would like to give it a try, I know what dates silver coinage was made of because I used them when I was a kid bu I just had a couple questions.

Firstly how do I get a bank to stock half dollars, I asked a few chases and they said they don't carry halves.

Second I am looking to do quite a large amount $30,000-$35,000

Thanks for your replies I'm pretty interested in this site and "hobby"

Hoo boy. This sounds concerning.

I think you need to step back and do a lot of research into what that kind of amount entails, especially for a newbie who doesn't have a strong coin relationship with banks. Some people take years to get to even half that level. That doesn't sound like a hobby, that sounds like a business.

I also recommend starting slow, I really don't think you understand the amount of work and preparation that goes into searching that much coinage.. I know there are guys who do search that much (And more power to them) but I would never have an interest in searching that much volume weekly. You will spend so much time and energy running around.. One of the big reasons I stopped searching higher volume in halves (besides skunks) is because I literally had to base my schedule around hunting.. whether it be free time with my woman or time with the family etc.. Everyone suffered because of my CRH schedule.. Every once in awhile I have to remind myself that there are more important things in life than silver coins.. I would recommend searching 8 boxes a week to start and if you like it, move up from there.. But you seriously need to set up a great dumping system before you even think about starting the hunt ( especially if you are doing the amount you are discussing )

welcome! what state are you hunting in?
