Hires Root Beer Bottle

[smittyman]

Maybe this should go somewhere else - I don't know. I found it while metal detecting though. Written on it is;

Hires Root Beer
Makes Five Gallons Of A Delicious Drink
Manufactured By The Charles E. Hires Co.
Philadelphia, Pa. U.S.A.

Interesting find.
Hires Root Beer Bottle Could Sell For Up To $35 - Philly.com
That was in 1992 ... could be worth more now.

Thought to be the longest continuously made soft drink in the United States.

Some Saccharomyces cerevisiae, root beer flavoring, water and time will yield you some hard root beer in a few months. I took a microbiology class one time and this was our end of semester project at school! The last day of class we had cheese, crackers, and hard root beer! No kidding!
