I decided to go out detecting this morning because Im trying to quit smoking. If I keep busy, I don't even think of cigarettes. With no plan in mind, I started driving around looking for a good spot. Hit up my one field permission and found the military button and the either cattle or mine tag. Door knocked one house and the lady told me no because she wanted to do it, fair enough. Up the road from that house is a 1902 house that I have hit before. Its actually where I found my first Barber dime. Anyhow, after digging a bunch of junk, I got a decent hit and it turned out to be a junk aluminum ring (thought it was silver at first.) Next target was the tiny red car. More junk and I get a wierd signal bouncing all over the place from 1-45 up to 12-47 and all the numbers in between. I almost didn't dig it because it was so all over the place but boy am I glad I did. As soon as I popped the plug, I saw the silver edge of a half dollar. Moved it out of the way and that revealed the dime and quarter. That makes 4 half dollars this year so far.

I just posted them up. For some reason when I first posted, they didnt show up. I tried to stop there not too long ago on a Sunday but they were closed for some reason.

Jaysix, that's the way to grow the ole silver stack...3 at a time! Tell u what...that's 85 cents face value, which is very hard to achieve by today's standards. Looks like you have some really good spots out there, 'grats on the door-knocking, a skill I'm trying very hard to adapt to myself. Great saves!..Ddf

Nice finds! Nothing like digging a Walker, plus some other silvers in the hole. I've found 3 silver halves this year, so you got me by one, Congrats!!

Looks like you smoked some silver instead of tobacco. Great finds! :icon_thumright:

congrats on the silver spill, sometimes those are pretty hard to come by, I've only had one myself and it had a walker in it.

Wow! Three silvers and a Half Dollar, it doesn't get much better then that! :occasion14:
Call me crazy, but I love the look of this little compact.
