Went out at just after dawn this morning for a 15-20 min hunt. Found my first wheat in this yard a 1945 in pretty darn good condition. Then found a copper whatizit, it weighs a whopping 355 grams, 4 1/4" long, looks to have threads sticking out on one end & a 1" deep hole down the center on the same end. I extensively cleaned it to get it where it's at now, even took some 2000 grit sand paper to it, the tarnish is deep.
I'm guessing it's some part of the electrical system of the old house? The end that is larger with the threads looks like it might have screwed on the smaller end? Or maybe not but something certainly screwed/attached to the threads.
