After having looked for new productive sites to hunt for months ... spent hours and hours locating new aeras on the map ... ridden over 200 km each weekend just to pull out trash or modern coins in the best case ... I finally found a dream spot last weekend . I threw away the map and drove at random thinking I just hit the first spot that looked fine to me . and that's what I did I looked around me asking myself " If I was a roman ( or whatever you want !) where would I build my house ? . I saw a small hill in the skyline that immediatly drew my attention . a few minutes ( well 1 hour actually :-\)later I was there . the first coin I found was a Celtic one after a few secondes of detecting only ... and guess what just near another bronze coin ...then another one then a bronze ring . I stayed there for 3 hours ( before the night actually stopped me ) and dug more then 30 celtic bronze coins , a silver hammered , a few bronze rings and some other stuff . The odd thing is I drove around the hill for a long time but had never stopped to detect .needlless to say I'm an happy man today :icon_queen:

That's really great but what are they valued at?

Fishstank

Not a huge amount, guessimate $1500 for the lot, vercing may correct me. I don't care what their worth this is a find of a lifetime. Many UK detectorist could & do search 20 years for just 1 coin from the Iron Age!.

WHY ISN'T THIS BANNER MATERIAL YET??????????

What can I say or express that hasn't already been said or expressed

Only that I will echo one sentiment, that this find is without a doubt a:

BANNER BANNER

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!BANNER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks guys, I appreciate the US support on this one. (& who said we (British) hated the French ) This really is dreamland stuff. 8)

Not a problem at ALL! This is absolutely DREAMLAND stuff. A handful of iron age coins is just so totally extraordinary in and of itself. Even IF they did not have ANY detail. BUT THEY DO HAVE GREAT detail. I have to give vercingetorix great respect for this find. You never know, they may have been from the great tribal warlord chieftain of the Gauls! HE definitely put up one helluva fight against Caesar as we will put one helluva fight up for you to get that BANNER!!!!
