Up on the nearby mt, in a deep canyon, where no one goes, he found three intact arrastres about 25 ft in dia with many sparkles of the color of my wife's gold ear rings down in between the cracks of the rocks on the floor.

He said they are just below a huge section of reddish colored dirt or soft rocks

Gentlemen: He is planing to go back up sunday with my Camera, Gps, and some sample bags.When he returns with the GPS readings, I will check with SECOFI to see if the area is free for filing.

In the past, Canadian co have filed for up to 1,000,000 Hectares at a time. As long as the taxes are paid, and a certain amount of development work is done, the titles remain in effect for 50 years.

That mountain, and the area down to el Fuerte, some 45 miles, and to the East for another 25 miles was just one exploration claim.

However the Mexican gov't is sharp, you can receive the initial claim very cheaply, but after a few years the taxes go up steeply and you are required to send a copy of your geological exploration work to Mexico. They well know that most of the land will be returned AND with a free - for them - exploration report.

For example, the Tayopa claims are about $ 10,000 a year right now, and that is for only 990 hectares. I had to let the other 1100 go, it was just too steep for the moment. sniff.

Buenos Dias. Las arrastes son arrastres pero no son el oro. (did I say that right?). The arrastres mean gold is in the area but it is going to be lode gold... translation.... WORK! Are you ready for the sweat? A diligent search may find the tunnels/shafts but the ore must be brought to the arrastres. Mucho Suerte. And.... stay thirsty, my friend. TTC

In 1985 I outfitted 2 club members to hit a property they had bought(leased)in Mexico. 2 dredges,detectors,concentrators etc etc. The loaded it all in a huge RV and towed a new jeep to mutz around in. They took off to their gold adventure down mexico way. Got a collect call about 6 weeks later. They were in TJ with only flip flops and shorts and NOTHING ELSE. Sent the help down to retrieve the fellas. The prior operator sent in his taxes and reports but one morning about 4 am up shows the federales with a prisoner work gang and threw them off the property with a 5 minute headstart!!!! :help:

In Mexico I can only warn ya to always err on the side a caution when south a the border as I have many stories even WORSE than this'n-tons a au 2 u 2 -John

HI hoser: May I remind our readers that just as in the US Laws, there are various types of permits issued. One specifically allows entry to do business. You cannot do business on a tourist permit. I can almost guarantee that they had tourist permits.

Dual thingie, when I was in the BP at the end of the harvest season you would be surprised how many ranchers would call up with a tip on illegals working on their ranch or a neighbors. After we caught on that it was a cheap way to get out of paying the illegals back wages, we started collecting min back pay before we removed them from the ranch.

In most cases, min salary was far more than they were paying the wets. They screamed and cried, but in a short while they started actually paying them the contract price.

So you see it works on on both sides of the border, soo, hint, go legally.
