I'm not sure if this was somthing some one was making and they never finished it ? The end thats covered with material has a solid piece of wood under it . There is a short piece of brass chain on the other end . What are those big oval holes for ? What is this ?

Mojjax you always post some interesting stuff. Will the horn stand on a flat surface? The wood/fabric could be to protect other surface. Something missing from the chain that would fit into the holes carved in the horn? A display stand of sorts.

It does not stand on its own - it's way out of balance to to that .
