Temperature-wise anyway.....Some interesting junk and relics from a site my buddy and I have hunted many times. Still tons of stuff to find, although the high conductors are getting a bit harder to find these days. The only older coin I found is a 1943S nickel that is totally black and crusty. Still quite a bit of brass and copper stuff which adds up nicely at the scrap yard. There used to be a town there, but, nothing stands at this point. Just rubble everywhere. Some of the more interesting items are the GE junction box from some of the old knob and tube wiring we find. The bottle would have been pretty cool if it had been complete. just the bottom with a 1925 patent date. Santa (something) bottling company. LA Brush Company handle, buckle, compact lid, and a brass plaque off a Consolidated Safety Valve. I'll post another photo of some items after a clean-up.

Lots better than my 25-degree day, taking the wife shopping! Great Hunt!

Nice finds :) You did very good :)

Great job
Congratulations

Here's a couple of pieces of the brass and copper I found after a bit of cleaning. Not sure what the brass "cross" shaped piece is from. Maybe a big valve of some sort? The top end has a threaded hole in it that might hold a seal similar to what a water valve holds. The holes in the ends of the arms aren't threaded, so maybe a guide shaft went through them? I believe it's probably 3 or 4 pieces that are fused together, so some of those parts may have rotated originally. I may have to hit it with some heat to see if they'll free up. The other item is made of copper and was part of a big switch contact at one point. The 1943S war nickel didn't fair too well for some reason. This area has always been real easy on coins, but, for some reason this nickel got eaten up a bit.

Glad your warm over there. We are currently at 8 degrees with a dusting of snow going on. My detectors are packed away for the long Winters nap ! Neat finds.
