How did everyone like Diggers?

WOW!!!

I didn't like the show because it was goofy and makes US look goofy. But those archies are straight up HATEFUL!

We need to bookmark those pages and anytime someone comes one here and asks why we dislike archies so much we can show them the reason!

I asked that question! I got some very insightful responses. But reading these tops it off. Oh and that list has grown. Including a site for a petition to kill the Spike TV show before it even airs. And it was already at 14,600 signatures of the 15,000 it needed to be filled before I saw it.

Well reading the facebook sites came across this part in a post
"In both episodes of the Diggers looting show on National Geographic Channel last night, the looters were at sites on the National Register of Historic Places." .....

I see some problems for property owners from this.
Not good. Not good at all. Idiots and fools running that show.

I didn't watch the show.

I refuse.

May it be cancelled soon.

Wow!!! I really enjoyed the show. They may have been a little over the top but it disturbs me a little that when your hunting partner says they found something good that you don't hurry over to see it. As for "Tokes" one of my partners (david fl) and I have been calling them "Toke Tokes" for years. We also call Nickles "Nick Nicks" I don't know why it just seems fun. We high five and act a little goofy and when we find something good you can probably hear me celebrating 100 yards away but that's fun to me. How are you supposed to act???

Snotty detectorist one: Look Bob I found a nice seated coin 30 minutes ago....
Snotty detectorist two: That is a nice specimen indeed. (extending hand for handshake)

Doesn't sound like fun to me.....

I was with Lookindown hunting a old home site and we were both digging a target about 30 feet apart and just as I saw the rim of a silver dime I heard him yelling "WHAT IS THAT" looking into the hole he was digging. I almost fell down running over to see what he had and I could see a large silver in the hole and he must have asked me 10 times "WHAT IS THAT" saying it loud enough to be heard 100 yards away but I understood his excitement and celebrated his good luck and BTW... We had fun and I hope whatever your hunting style that you have that it's fun for you too.... That's what it's all about right?? ;D

I'm all for getting excited over GOOD finds. My friends and I always call each other over when we are at an old site and see a hint of silver at the bottom of the hole.

The problem lies with their finds. They aren't really finding much of anything and they are sprinting towards each other to see the guy dig up a wheat penny.

Again, I'm all for excitement. But there is excitement, and then there's just making an arse of yourself for the camera.

My friends and I also have amusing things to say about certain finds.... But they are more running jokes. We wouldn't have them defined on a tv screen.

You need to contact the team ATC that made the show. You sound just like them. Seriously, "nick nicks"? Sounds like what a 2 year old would say, not an adult. I guess if that makes me a "snotty detectorist" then so be it.

Yeah, everyone knows it, "Knickity, Nick Nick, patty whack give the dog a bone." Not Nick, Nick!

Besides when ever we go out and diggizle a coinizzle we like to shake it like a bizzile with the flavizzle.

Sorry, but if I find a wheat penny I celebrate. But I am still new. Maybe as I get older, or start finding more I will stop being so easy to excite.

Really Jason in Enid... With an avatar like you have you are calling me childish?? All I said is that we're having fun. We don't have to try to belittle each other but we are entitled to our own opinions I guess.

If you can't have some fun, there is no point in a hobby. So be you!

What would you expect from garret owners, the show is fake like the rest of the reality word shows. I missed it, Oo waa. I wounder how many hours they put in to it before they find any thing good stopping and starting the camera you can't tell un less they say. and with them detector they won't be digging long. all shallow target's they should get some real detector.

Just finished watching both episodes, and was not impressed at all. Not saying that I won't give it a few more chances to actually become a USEFULL show on detecting. Sure they weren't digging on the White house lawn, but the was one manicured site that they were hacking. If it was more of a documentary type show (glad it's not), instead of a reality BS show, it may have a chance to survive. I have no worries about thousands of people running out to buy detectors based on this show, and if they did.... they would soon quit. A 1918 wheatie...big deal, maybe a 1922D or 1909S VDB yeah I agree on the excitement. And like one of the earlier posts mentioned, most of the items they supposedly sold was trash. They are probably very nice guys, who are experienced hunters, but on a scale of 1 to 10, it gets a 4 from me. And oh yeah..... you archies don't like it, why don't you spend your time on more important things like Archeology sites and do something worthwhile, jealous snobs. :crybaby2:

Been at this for over 45 years, Sorry Still get happy
over a wheat :D disappointment sinks in a little
if I see a 4 or 5 after the 9, But still a keeper :icon_thumleft:

I almost always yell silver when Hunting with someone.
Unless distance or the possability of a Pocket spill
Distracts me.

If I see gold, I May do a Little Jig, been so long :D

Anyway, nothing wrong with having a little Fun.
The show made it look like overkill because the Editors
Concentrated on the comments and
squashed all them into 20 Minutes of space.

I'd wager, almost all of those here who have Problems
with the show, would find them to be Perfectly
Tolerable in real life hunting situations.
I Doubt they are realy like 9 year olds on a sugar Rush.

" Production and Editing "

I found it entertaining. It's TV remember. My blood presure rises when I find anything that's not trash.

on the fence.
kinda enjoyed the show. the guys seemed funny/personable enough. I got a thrill seeing detecting on tv tho. I love the excitement of digging a hole also :o

won't be glued to the schedule to watch all shows. might catch one on rerun or whatever. good thing to watch if nothing else to do or all other shows stink at that time :laughing9:

I liked it better than I was expecting based on some posts here. They were a bit goofy and their lingo is a bit odd but I liked the history the show provides and their challenges are ok.
