how do i get a bag of half dollars ?

i live in LA california and every bank i go to never has coin machines but i really want a bag and not a box ;<
any knowledge on this is greatly appreciated. thank you

In my area, the lead teller wont sell a bag unless its a full $500. So ask them to call you when they have a full bag. Be advised, you will likely end up with someone elses dumps, especially if they call you every couple days. But...there will be the times you get a good bag with lots of silver.

Without coin machines, good luck getting bags.

To tell you the truth, boxes are faster to go through.

I can do 3 boxes of dimes in 1 hour, I can do 1 $500 bag of dimes in about 1 1/2-2 hours. It takes more work to grab handfuls and then line them up to look at the edges.

Also, bags run more of a risk of being short. I just got a bag of Quarters today from a somewhat local bank. I think I have received one with almost $10 extra in it. On the other side of the coin, I have received a $25 box of pennies with 49 rolls in it once, or $24.50. You run less risks of being shorted on a box than a bag.

The only bags I've ever gotten were skunks.

I used to be able to get bags until someone screwed it all up for everyone.

I was told this joker was $14 short on a dime bag, and threw a fit in the bank demanding his money back.

The bank's new policy? NO BAGS ARE TO BE SOLD TO ANYONE, FOR ANY REASON, WHATSOEVER.

bought a bag $ 1,000 4 months ago...... ( 9 keeppers 3 were % 90 6 % 40 ) also found 2 toonies ( canadian $ 2 ) cashed it in hour later down the road at a branch that will not sell the bags and came up with.....$ 996. 50 + 4.50 in silve + 2 toonies....... so the toonies were free and 2 silver were free ...i'll take that anyday ! ! ! the teller sold me the bag ...but she goes through them also and said she always find silver . some old guy turned in 10 morgans and when he was told they were worth more he said he was 78 and just wanted his money !!!!!! lucky ....

The bags I get from my bank, the vault manager said he doesnt touch. They are not allowed to go through them, they seal them and call it a day. I got a $1000 bag a quarters from them that was a total skunk but I have access to $1000 bags of dimes, quarters and halves along with $200 bags of nickels and $50 pennies. I cant complain. I do hope to get access to peoples thrown away collections this way.

I've gotten one bag in 4 years. total skunk. I get some good boxes some bad boxes and some great boxes. over the 4 years Ive been hunting I've pulled in over $2000 in face mostly from boxes.
