Before anyone considers paying for your services you'll have to demonstrate at least some reasonable rate of success. That means a tangible recovered object of value proven to be located by your hand. People would need at the very least geophysical survey results from several different types of technology confirming at least one of your dowsed targets.

If you asked me "How much will I pay for a car?", I am first wanting to know if
the car is any good, and if it can do the job.

If it was just me and you, and you were able to find a retrievable (and marketable)
treasure in a reasonable amount of time, we would split expenses and the treasure
as well.

In truth, however, if you can find the treasure on your own, then what do you
need me for?

First of all, I would only hire a wealthy dowser. If they are not wealthy, they probably are not very good at dowsing.

Second, I would tend toward a share only. But from the dowser's perspective, they are then taking all the financial risk. If they have to travel to the site, then the risk they take is that my site might have no treasure at all. If they can remote dowse, then the risk they take is that I find the treasure and tell them there was nothing there. So I would expect a smart dowser to only dowse on-site (even if they use map dowsing) and require travel expenses up-front. If I have enough confidence in my treasure site and that dowser is wealthy enough, then I should be willing to front their travel costs.

Yeah but you'll never get any meaningful guarantees. Even with every bit of advanced technology at your disposal you'll never have a guarantee. Meaning tech commercially available to civilians. I'm not convinced that even military satellites can see shallow caches of gold 1x2 ft and below with any degree of certainty. Otherwise surely they'd be dispatching units to recover it all, even offering their services to civilian land owners. When you have farmers in Kentucky accidentally digging up $3 million dollar caches, there must be massive amounts still in the ground.

I only know of 2, and I am one, and I can no longer do it with L-rods.

I always wondered why the top dowsers of the world never tried to help that guy who threw away his harddrive, with the $100 million in bitcoin or whatever it was. He was at the dump digging through all that garbage. Surely he would have signed for 50%. Maybe someone here should look in to it?
