How to eliminate or replace the detector strap on my arm

My Minelab Manticore grips arm with a velco strap about 1 1/2 wide that crosses my arm just below my elbow. It works great, but because I'm in the sun so much, I'm getting this weird strip of white skin circling my arm, with a dark tan above and below it. Is there an alternative to this strap?

That's a bad case of skunk arm.

Use a long sleeve UV shirt, or, some SPF50 sunscreen and that won't happen.

I wish it was a mesh strap. At least then I would have a cool-looking tan band around my arm.

It might be time to switch to detector sandals.😉😁

Cuda nailed it, my recommendation as well, skin cancer is also nothing to mess with.

I always wear UV shirt at beach, in and out of water with SPF sunscreen on all exposed skin and hat.
