Boy I really needed a detecting fix on Saturday. I had planned to spend a few hours out but by the time I had run around all day I only had 30 minutes left before it got dark. I figured 30 minutes was better than nothing.

I hit a sports field not far from where I live and it was soon turning up coins - in the 30 minutes before it got dark I had pulled $10. Since I could still make out the readout (but only just) I kept going in the dark and pulled out another $8 and a silver necklace with a 9ct gold crucifix. It was so dark all I knew was that I had a chain and cross as I couldn't make out whether it was silver or gold.

I decided to hit the same are in the morning. Within two minutes I'd pulled out a nice chunky silver bracelet and the coins kept coming. Out popped a nice silver ring with mother of pearl inlay. By mornings end I had detected 48 coins to a total value of $45.76. I do love our Aussie $1 and $2 coins. ;D

As much as I love detecting for old pre-decimal coins, its nice to get a good haul of 'bling' and 'ka-ching' too.

Great finds from the land down under, gotta love those jewelry finds, very nice! When I first saw your face value totals I thought you had been hunting with Jack Daniels. 1 and 2 dollar coins explains a lot, that is awesome. Thanks for sharing...Ryan

Great stuff. You must have been the first guy there in a long time. I actually like going out at night. I have a LED headlamp, but rarely use it - only for finds that I know are not common. Less peple to bug you at night...

nice finds !! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D night huntin is awesome !!

Nice work! Even the dark of night can't stop us when we're on a mission ;D

I've hunted sports fields at night before with my son..there was so much to find and we had a great time.

Outstanding jewelry.
That'll make your treasure chest a little heavier!

Congratulations!

Funny how all my good stuff gets snaffled by my wife and three daughters - the old treasure chest doesn't get as heavy as it should ;D

Congrats !

AWESOME.

Hey glad to see the night hunt payed off, and along with the next days hunt you really racked out. Days like that one would be great for most any of us. I especially would be quite pleased with those results.

Congratulations,

There have been times after my girls went to bed that I went out in my back yard with my detector, shovel and little flashlight, I felt kind of silly but now I don't knowing that you guys hunt at night too.
