Hunting the Soccer Field Goal Box...Find A Possible Civil War Cleaner Bullet?

I went to a nearby town and hit a large park, with all of my favorite sports fields. In one of the soccer field (pitch) goal boxes, I found this little gem. I will have to defer to our very knowledgeable TNet friends for a possible identification. The bullet weighs in at 27 grams, and is a little over 1/2 inch in diameter, and appears to have two rings above the cleaner piece. The top looks like it may have a "nipple" shape or was pulled? I sure would appreciate your comments.



This park had been cherry-picked, I could tell by the amateurish large plugs cut in the sod, some with junk still in the hole... It did not stop me from raking in about $12.00 in clad for charity, including two one-dollar coins. I did manage to find one precious metal piece of jewelry, a nice sterling silver earring, marked .925.

it is, it's been wormed and worn down but that's what it is.

Your weight is a little light and the diameter is a little small for a typical cleaner. It was possible to fire them in a .54 rifle that might explain both differences and also the rings being almost invisible. Just my rookie guess.

The circle you are seeing on top could be the ramrod mark from trying to load a dirty gun.
