So around here alot of the totlots have gravel instead of woodchips. Do you guys have success in gravel filled totlots? What kind of experiences have you had? What other mediums have you run into?

So around here alot of the totlots have gravel instead of woodchips. Do you guys have success in gravel filled totlots? What kind of experiences have you had? What other mediums have you run into? I have had good luck good luck in all mediums (gravel, woodchips, sand). In gravel it seems that targets don't go much further than the hard pan. Easy recovering targets, though. hh

Gravel ends up turning more coins and jewelry on edge than woodchips or sand. This can be troubling for the deeper targets. It also degrades jewelry faster. But you can use a magnet on a stick easier in gravel than in other mediums and that helps eliminate iron targets that may cause falsing or masking.

Just be sure to dig it all in the playground!
