I believe we need a gun thread. Carrying while detecting?

We are not all as big as you are and as a woman I definitely wouldn't want to be. Nobody is going to go around shooting someone just because they said "boo", or anything else regardless of how bad it is for that matter! You say you're trying to protect us from "legal problems" but what about us or our families from being severely injured or killed by damned criminals or crazies? I'd much rather have legal problems if I had to than to be maimed, killed, etc.!!! Many on this thread are also insured for any legal issues that could possibly arise also. So stop pushing your own agenda in the guise of trying to protect us from "legal problems" already! If that happens to anyone just trying to protect themselves or their families then at least THEY'RE STILL BREATHING!!!

BTW you do realize that your large size can also make you an easier target especially if you go charging after somebody in a rage right?

Case in point. This is my good friend, Calamity who is only 5 ft. tall and is lucky to weigh in at 100lbs. with layers of clothes on and soaking wet. How do think she is supposed to defend herself? Like this... :icon_thumright:

Oh and in certain circles I'm AKA as Oakley.

The only reason I didn't complete the entire star on the head was because I did it rapid fire with only 1 in the pipe and 10 in the mag. I also had given them the choice of either a smiley face or a star on the head. If they had have chosen the smiley face, I would have had more than enough to complete it. :laughing7:

The Piratess shows all of us a good point.. practice safe gun handling and if you haven't got out to the range or countryside in awhile, you should. As one needs to stay in shape and be ready.

Beretta PX4 Storm & Ruger LCR+P

On a budget? SW9VE or the SW40VE. Both Smith and Wesson products. Look around and you can find a nice used one for about $200 or less. Same holsters fit the M&P full size series too. Just use Google to get more info.

I have a concealed permit and either carry my M&P Shield 9mm or a Bersa BPCC 9mm.

Better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

Only had to pull a weapon on a fellow human once. My daughter was in a bad relationship and called us at 1am asking if we could go and help her get her things from their apartment. She was in fear of her safety and her boyfriend was yelling and screaming, making threats, etc..

My wife and I drove the 45 miles and met her at her place. While the ladies gathered her stuff, I had a conversation with the boyfriend with a baseball bat in my hand. He made the decision to reach for a sword they had on the wall and was met with my sidearm drawn and aimed at his chest.

I made the little man sit in the corner while my daughter finished getting her stuff. Pretty sure he wet himself that night. He never bothered her or us again.....

Good for you Dad! And that is why we have firearms and no one was shot!

I find the term "gun culture" quite odd. :laughing7:

Guns have some sort of culture?

A culture could include guns, but to label a whole culture based upon an aspect of a culture that is disagreeable to someone, for whatever reason, seems stupid to me.

Is there a stupid culture? :dontknow:

Charlie hit the nail on the head. here at work there are several of us armed, if someone opened fire here they would be shot in a heart beat.

I carry because I prefer to be an armed citizen rather than an unarmed victim.
Back when the start up .coms were busting there were more than a few loose screws that capped off after being laid off. The CEO and friend of mine of my company gave us letters and required myself and the CFO and ex special forces to carry. I conceal carried at work for over 3 years with permission!

How far away on the B27? 7 yards? I'll have to put together a 7 yard target in a video. ╦╦Ç

Here ya go "Thomas".

I should have seen this one coming... :tard: I hate to post any pictures of myself and especially when I'm wearing loose, baggy clothes that make me look fat! ::) I like wearing loose clothes at the range. I stepped in to demonstrate for a class and when I did that I had used one of the participant's short nosed, 9mm Glock instead of my favorite Sig Sauer... 8-)
Thomas asks "who is Angel in Training"? Ha Awesome

OKAY, To keep the thread migrating. Does anyone have any of these Vintage pieces?

Don't know Kansas law but in Florida under our stand your ground law your allowed to use deadly force if you feel your life is in danger or your in danger of "great bodily harm". In your 60's your in danger of greatly bodily harm in a fight.
It's the law in Mo. now Also and from what I understand, an increasing number of other states.

Tess, I predict London cops will be carrying pistols before too long. ╦╦Ç

Chub, Please forgive my ignorance, I must be missing something! Just what are you talking about here?

From what I understand many firearms were smuggled in using this type of method and sold for cash. Its just a story ofcourse.

That's true, but I'm not lying about my size. I'm done debating this with you. If you read my posts carefully, you'd realize that I'm trying to protect you guys from legal problems. Thinking you can shoot an unarmed person because they said boo is a dangerous premise. That's all I'm going to say on this issue...

......hhmmm, there's a saying that goes, "I'd rather be tried by a jury of 12 than carried by 6."
