my guess a lawn mower will take $25 or more each fill up
by 2024

It just went up again last night Jeff, In Kingston Ontario the pump price is now at the Esso $6.62 US Gal. So with the conversion of $$$ it would be $5.19 US

last time we had soaring price here, the politicians in power promised to take gas taxes off to help. instead the price at the pump leveled off so they conveniently forgot they were going to drop it to help us out.

pa has some of the highest gas taxes in the us.
Pennsylvania (0.586) per gallon.
thing is if they remove it. it just gives us a few more months.
then it's over that , and no where else to go but up

A few months ago like November I drove by a new gas station that was still being constructed. I laughed at the 7.11 price per gallon as I passed but now it seems like it could become a reality!

The retail price of gas in PA has now exceeded the previous record high set in 2008.

Oil reached $147 a barrel in summer of 2008. The global recession in late 2008 caused demand to drop and oil prices collapsed to @ $30, crushing segments of the US oil industry.

It's at $114+ today. I'll let you do the math to adjust for inflation... Increasing demand as we try to climb out of the pandemic along with current geopolitical events is driving US oil producers to crank up the pumps once again. But that sort of thing doesn't happen overnight. I think we need to settle in for a long summer - at home...

There will be many more hikes in the short term.
The refineries are going off line to do the maintenance for the summer demand.

I Try to fill up at the 3/4 tank point so I don't get Price shock as Bad.
I recently had to do allot of unplanned running and was hoping to hold off till I got to Redners where I Can use my Cents off points.
At the moment I only have 5 cents off over there.& not knowing
gas prices there , could be $4.00 :dontknow: so I haven't run that way till I run out of Groceries.
