I dug a neat one today, but not sure if it is a "real" or reienactor's buckle yet.

Had a call from a friend who wanted to hit an area on a ridge behind an old church. We hunted there for 3 hours, and I found this along with a few buttons that I am cleaning. I know they have had reenactments there in the past, so I am not sure if this is genuine or a repro yet. I have to take the measurements and check the books.

I owned a non dug one, still on the belt, a few years ago. As you said, they are post Civil War, but still very cool. Great find!
 

Congrats on the belt plate. The plate along with the buttons would definitely make a nice display.👍
