I'm expecting my new X-Terra 305 in the mail hopefully from Kellyco. I'm SOOOO excited to get back into MD'ing...and so are my kids! I haven't held one in ALOT of years (probably 8 or so) since my oldest was about 2 or so and now I have 4 youngins who are really intrigued by this!

Big change I think too since my last one was a Garrett Scorpion from back when I was in the GPAA hunting flakes of gold.. lol

Any 305 owners out there have any specific 305 advice/tricks/tips? I'd love to hear from ya!

I'm sure it will take a couple months to get used to it, but I'm excited to finally have bought into the Minelab family (even if it is a lower model). I'm sure it's going to be perfect to get back into it with and will last me a while!

OH, did I mention I was excited?

I've got a 305 as well as an Explorer II.

The 305 is a great machine for the money. It's my primary weapon of choice if my wife & I are hitting tot lots.

It's got a great recovery speed, is simple and easy to use.

I've found everything from gold, modern clad, to who knows what it is but it beeped.

Best advice I could give is just have fun with it.

Ahhh... getting a detector in the mail, the good ole days! I think I used to buy em just to play with. These days I have to by other things to get my postal rush.

Pretty funny and I kid you not, the mailman knocked at my door with a delivery while I was typing the above sentences. What are the chances huh.

305's a great intermediate machine.Was the first one i ever got,and was easy to learn.Basically switch it on,flick into "coin or beach mode" and away you go! Great fun,kids will love it.
