This is something I've been doing for a few days now...

As someone who enjoys colonial digs, I've grown to dislike roosies very much. They didn't do anything wrong to me, I just feel that they'll be better appreciated elsewhere by other people. So I'm redistributing modern silver coinage whenever I find washingtons and roosies.

I feel better and the people that find them feel better too, and it's all in good fun!

Keep your eyes open in Essex County NJ at 7-11's!

I tell you what,I'll give me my address and you can just send me some in the mail,I love silver. But in all seriousness that is pretty cool of you.

Hey Steve, We have 7 - 11's here in Illinois to !! You know, if your ever out this way.

Thanks for making me laugh this morning Scraps! That's great.

Brad called you a "dingbat"... that really made me laugh.

Next time you dig a bad silver coin, just leave it in the hole, I will come up and look for them, and be tickled to death when Mr. Roosevelt shines at me from the bottom of a hole.

Best of luck to you brother!

Take them to Digging in PA site and seed them. I'm sure they will be plenty of Silver Lovers more than happy to Make any kind of find at the dig.

very cool !!!I get it.....when we all started out a rosie would be a big deal, over time not so much.I used to have collections of all kinds of stupid stuff I'd find.Nowadays while I still enjoy digging a rosie...I would rather it be a 925 ring.

Finding one in your change is very pleasing finding one in the hole when you're dreaming about the seated not so much fun. Bravo

Thank you! You understand;)

...or dreaming of large cents or Spanish reales...

I remember once I was digging at a colonial hotbed. Nothing I found there was later than 1820. I get a smoking dime/worn quarter signal 8" down, about the depth I've been finding the colonial stuff. I'm daydreaming about Spanish silver or capped silver as I dig. I pop out the plug and I see a silver rim...just the rim, and it's reeded. I take a picture...and slowly move the dirt away... a Mercury dime!

I wish I could find that one in my jar of silver. I'd spend it for sure!!!!

Steve, you do what you want with your finds, it's your prerogative. If I could consistently dig the older coins like you, maybe I'd do the same, but since I am out here in Ohio, I will keep mine.

And I will be pulling them out of circulation! Thank you kindly.

Throw them back in the ground!!!!!:laughing7: We'll be out that way in Sept!!!!

I'm a wawa brat, wawa's owner owns property around my one lake, I'm so old and cheap my lunch money is seated. And I still have it. You can do whatever you want with your Rosie's, they are yours. I always am looking for that seated and it's become a let down seeing that candle. A keeper is a keeper for me and I'm grateful for what I find. It doesn't take much to put a smile on my face.
