This weekend we visited 3 different sites in 2 days. All we have hunted before but went for a revisit.
The cache I am referring to is the six silver plated sleigh bells I found in the same hole. All between 8-10 inches down, and at the very bottom of the hole was the iron buckle that was on the leather. They all say PATD. OCT 24 1876. They even still have the peas still inside them .
The other finds for the weekend consist of 2 flat buttons, another buckle, and a key. The key has WMRR on it at top with switch at bottom. On the other side says 09. WMRR standing for Western Maryland Rail Road, so I am assuming it use to be an old switch key they used. The end of the key is not bent, that was how it was made.
All in all a good weekend and a surprising find with the bells.
