I FOUND IT!!!!! I FOUND IT!!!!! Went back well equiped this time. 3 feet from where I found the plate I got a high 70 low 80 at 8". I just knew it was it. Plenty of roots but the Lesche did its magic. Had the wreath part of the buckle in 5min. I am so happy right now. :) looked around for a bit. Found 1 musket ball and plenty of lead. Am going to grid and hunt this place with a fine tooth comb.

What do you guys suggest I do with restoration/preservation? Do I just leave as is? Should I have it done professionally? If yes by who? Also should I contact a museum to let them know I have it in case they want pictures or even display it? Never been in that situation before so I welcome input and advice from the TNet community.

Thanks for watching!

Patrick

Anyway to modify your Banner pic with the 2 pieces reunited?

Well done my man.:occasion14:

Not sure how the banner works. I assume the webmaster puts it up there.

Literally on the water edge. We have not gotten a lot of rain this summer so the water is low. Ground was probably underwater most of the year. Need to invest in a waterproof pinpointer to do real water hunting. I am really enjoying the all kayaking/detecting thing.

Congrats on finding the wreath to go with your tongue. They sure look good married up!

Wow ! That has got to be rare to find the second piece - fantastic save man !!!

That is so Cool,, man you must be one happy puppy.
Congrats Big Time,,

If you loan it to a museum, be aware they do not always give a item back.

BIG CONGRATS!

WHAT CAN I SAY ? A UNREAL PEICE OF HISTORY REUNITED AFTER A 150 YEAR SEPERATION . I WONDER WHAT THE FELLA WAS DOING TO CAUSE HIM TO LOOSE THIS BUCKLE . DANG NICE FIND.

Good for you!!!!

great job congrats

In terms of cleaning, it IS clean. Leave it as-is. Nothing to restore. You did the impossible. Not only did you find a very rare tongue, but you found the matching wreath. I'm floored, what luck you had! Congrats!

That's a full court nothing but net! :headbang: ...nothing but T-net maybe! :)
