Hey all,
Don't worry, Don't worry... I am still hunting and still posting wouldn't stop for the world. I did some hunting in the fairgrounds after the GrassRoots Festival in Trumansburg N.Y. My BFF found two 14k gold chains there so I went. One of his chains turned out fake after we tested it at our local coin shop. Ne way I went and found nothing but trash for like 2 hours. Then some carnival worker walked up to me to make small talk and just at that point. I found a cool ring that seems to be handmade and says S.ter. (just as is) on the surface of the ground. I will take it to be tested someday.
The other day I had to Barry my dog, he got hit by a car. :-( To take my mind off of that I did a little hunting in my yard thinking again, I will find a coin. I could not have found them all. I check carefully around my dogs grave not to step on where he rests. With fresh turned over dirt I thought for a min maybe something would pop up. I found nothing in that area so moved away to near the front of his dog house. Got a Zinc hit and dug....The dirt was shaped just right as I was cleaning it I thought I had a Flying Eagle Cent!!! Turned out to be a normal memorial cent. The next hit was also Zinc so I am still thinking jokingly alright this is a Flying Eagle. I pause... I look... I gasp.. Its a Shield and I think i see a wreath its my first Indian Head Penny. Woohoo!! Soon after that, I dig a 1961 Dog Tag
go figure. I thank my dog and move on...Sniffle sorry this find came on such a heavy note.
(REST IN PEACE ZEPHER)
As you can see its very dirty and I did not want to try to clean it until I got some advise from you guys. Should I use a potato I know that works good for wheat's. I won't do an oil soak so don't suggest that its to messy :-) I don't want to use electrolysis on it cause copper will fry.
Thanks for looking,
Keep @ it and HH!!
