I found a 1906 Reunion pin/cuff link from a retired Civil War soldier. This is a prized possession for me. I’m so so happy:))) IMG_2056.webpIMG_2060.webpIMG_2061.webp

Any suggestions on cleaning it or should I leave it alone?

Great Find!!!

Awesome score, congratulations!

That's something special there! Congratulations on a great Confederate find.

Truly a once in a lifetime find..
Congrats on that Union Reunion Link to the past!

Awesome find! :occasion14:

don't be in a hurry, you can always clean it later, you can't make it as dug again

Great find! A UCV reunion piece is something that's been on my bucket list for a very long time. Nice save!

I found a flat button a few weeks ago that dates from as early as 1790. I should have never cleaned it! a complete disaster. My advice...leave well enough alone.

I think it's safe to say most of us have been there

Your killing it in that park Truth! Congrats!

I was working a new program I heard about in a trashy part of the park with my F75. I was in the very front of the park and right across the Bayou, no more then 100 yards, there was a Confederate Retirement home where they had the Reunion. I guess he took a walk in the park that night and lost it. I’m honored to have it.

Thank you Rob 4 hours of hunting in clay my forearms are burning still. I might have gotten a IHP as well but this Louisiana clay makes them them very chewy so it hard to tell. I would have thought clay would have preserved them better but not the case. IMG_0012.webpIMG_0012.webp

Very cool find Truth. Congrats on a special piece of Southern history.

And remember to: dig around every tree, as close as possible. Investigate every poison ivy and briar patch and do not neglect where people park cars on the grass. Just found a CW plate where we had been parking our cars on this one site. Go figure.

I may have to run over from gulf shores and find some o that confederate gold
