I got out today in the unwavering heat and found two firsts in my metal detecting career. I found both my first silver Washington Quarter (and second) and my first Mercury dime (and second one of those as well) in the backyard of my newest permission. Both the quarters and one of the dimes were found within a foot of eachother. The other dime was not too far from that group. I also found two wheat pennies, one a 1916 and the other is unreadable. So far at this site I have pocketed 8 wheats, 2 silver Roosevelts, 2 Mercury dimes, and 2 silver Washingtons. Here are the pics. Thanks for checking my post.

That's an excellent hunt.
You recovered two bucket listers today.
Put them in cardboard coin folders, mark the date, and location, with a big red "1st" on each.
Congrats

I sure hope you are right DDF! I was very excited to see those quarters. Maybe I can find a Walker next time. Good luck with your hunts.

Stellar day, Through the years, nothing changes. I find loads of clad in the swingset area of the tot lots now. An old tree swing would use gravity and centrifugal force to loosen the silver coins out of a pocket 75 years ago just the same. (PS...also look for old trees with low hanging horizontal branches...people love to hang upside down on them.) Sub 8-)
