Already have one!!! No problems yet. I went with the Grey Ghost headsets. The o-ring problem in MHO is user error.

Cool! Congrats on your new machine. I almost bought the CTX instead of Excal and Etrac. How are you liking it so far?

I love it. When I go to a crowded beach with other hunters and if they are not swinging a ctx3030 then I know I have a more superior machine and a better chance on gold.

The CTX is only good for shallow water correct? Doesn't really replace the Excal.....

So you think it's more superior in depth or having a screen to avoid digging clad and other junk? I'm curious how deep the monster 17" coil is over what I'm using now in pinpoint all metal. I really don't know if I want to dig any deeper.

I will take my excals with the 15" coils and reverse desc mods any day.....

My hunting partner Dave has both CTX and excals with the same mods (he did my mods) as I, when we are hunting beaches he prefers the excals.

As long as you are willing to dig the 'iffy targets' that some gold comes up as. it's not just about 'superior' it's about knowing you machine, having the right set up, digging the targets, and a little luck. I have an AT pro and my friend has a CTX and we went shallow water hunting and I smoked him! he didn't know how to set his machine up correctly, didn't have the best program running, and I picked up the slightest signals on pro-mode and dug them. I then did the same thing with my Etrac (which I know like the back of my hand after years) when he had his CTX and we hit a trashy 1700's foundation site.
