I have a question or three re: these items I have found...

I found these in a river in sunny South Bend, In.

This first one I am real curious about. At the very least it is the most symetrical stone I have found...is it an artifact? (I dipped it in water to help with the picture)

This I don't think is an artifact, but maybe something commercially made. It is very cylindrical, smooth, and made of some sort of stone. What do you think

I found this right next to the above image...any ideas?

This is very dense and struck me as odd. Any ideas?

One more...is this indian pottery or a sewer pipe. I said sewer pipe, but the markings at the top of the pict made me think twice.

Again, context of the finds plays a significant role in IDs. I agree with a few others.

1. tumbled stone
2. battery core or other historic manufactured object
3. base to antique crockery jug or pot
4. possible hematite nodule
5. terra cotta tile or pipe fragment

Unfortunately, many batteries have been dumped into rivers and streams. Disassembly is done by the water, rock, and gravel. Softer parts erode away and the cores of "cells" are left...very common in river debris near towns.

Maybe someone can explain how a battery core can be made of what looks like metamorphic rock ?

When metal detecting we find battery cores such as those. For some reason they turn to a concrete like stone. Its just a guess from a photo but it looks like a battery core.

Here is an almost drilled artifact,,,,, guess they got tired.
