I believe take it out to the country referred to putting the animal down(shooting it) in the country so you could bury it afterwards.

Gare I have been attacked by a Pit and ended up with a broken wrist a torn up chest where she tried to lock on, the reason it was a chest wound instead of a ripped out throat, was because I was back pedaling when attacked. She ended up being put down because because she attacked 3 more people the same day and was being tracked by Police after the attack on me. The owner was the problem because he bred her for pit fighting. But at the same time I still love pit bulls as we owned one ourselves and raised him from a puppy and he wouldn't have hurt a flea. It still comes back to knowing the history of the dog, whoever owned Jax before could have trained him to be aggressive when other dogs show aggression which is still not good. I still firmly believe you should seek a pit bull professionals help in dealing with Jax. Jax may see other dogs as bait dogs which is how pits are trained to fight in pit fighting, we have a major issue with dog fighting and rooster fighting here in the Central Valley of California. I wish you luck Gare in however you proceed with Jax.

My dog is fine with people. If another dog makes and attacking move at it the battle is on. I have had other people come in my home bringing there dog in and No PROBLEM

Talk about Karma, I have owned and LOVED 6 dogs in my life and they were all someone else's problem before I gave them a forever home. But as a country boy, when you had an animal that started killing livestock, they were taken for a long walk out in the field what happened after that you can assume the obvious.

When I was 10 years old, my dog mated with a neighboring dog and later had 5 puppies. We pretty much lived hand to mouth in those days, but I wanted to keep all of the puppies. But one day when I came home from school, all of the puppies were gone except for the mother. My Mother said that they were taken out to the country and left on a big farm several miles from where we lived and they seemed very happy. I later found out from my older brother who went with her that they were taken to the local animal shelter. It was heart breaking back then in many ways, but the older I got, I began to understand the position a single Mother with 4 children to feed and care fore to have to make that kind of decision, I had to respect.

Yesterday someone came to my door knocked . She had a dog on a leash , My dog charged the screen gllass door and knock it out of my hand and got to the other dog. He sank his teeth into the dog and would not let go .

Chili she never came in my home. She knocked on the door and reached inside to pay me my money. Her dog jumped at my door and knocked it out of my hand. It also growled and barked. Risky is all I can say. But there is a HUGE crowd of folks that love and defend Pit Bulls. Likely they are very loyal dogs and sometimes unpredictable/controllable. Bad combo in my opinion. Maybe great if you have the cartel coming after you or you are going into battle. I hope it works out either way.

Brother has a German Sheppard that they trained to protect their young children. Sounded like a good idea. Even though we get along and it is mostly friendly - I don’t trust that dog. It even treats outside family/dogs as a threat. It NEVER relaxes. The cause of more than one dog fight. Adding it to the list of breeds I can do without.

Your a nice guy mate but each time a suggestion is given which is obviously not amongst the replies you are seeking the goal posts get shifted.
Why leave such key points out of your previous posts? I can't help but feel they're add ons in defense to receiving negative responses.
Id still love to see a picture of this dog but I expect we won't see one though.
I guess just keep it and keep your fingers crossed it doesn't land you in a messy legal situation and doesn't hurt anyone else or any other dogs.

Chilli, your badgering. Gare is a good guy. He has a connection with this animal. Personally, I think he’s glossing over the risk because of that, but let’s not turn it into an argument. Just saying.

I rescued this dog from a dog pound. I have had him for a year and a half. He is now an inside dog. My wife says whjen i go away and leave him he is in a sad case. When he hears my car come back he is all in his glory and meets me at the door. I can not set on the couch with out him leaning against me.

I still wouldn’t let it around children. Watched a GREAT cow dog (heeler) give clear signals that the 4 year old was making it nervous. Didn’t realize what was about to happen. Spent every weekend with this dog and knew it well. After two or three subtle warnings that nobody noticed. It attacked like lightning. Slightly broke the skin on the arm. Had it been a savage throat bite by a dog bred for it, the little girl may have died. Be overly cautious not nonchalant because of your bond.

i had a great dog, a 70lb boxer, best dog I ever had. Incredibly child protective, fearsome property protector, honest to god would chase bears off the property. I had to keep him behind a 7 and half foot fence in a paddock, because he could get out of a 7 foot fence. The point here is I HAD to keep him CONTAINED even though I live in the woods on 5 acres. He died at his post at the age of 12, still standing and watching the house even though his back legs were shot and I had to carry him. I know I should have put him down but he never once complained of pain.

I had a lab that was a bear fighter. Got in a tussle with one in the yard one day, and was ready to fight at the sight or scent of one for the rest of his life. That was a hard one for me to figure out.

that dog was keeper! My dog would make bears run like a scalded cat, I had no idea they could run that fast! But the dog would never chase beyond the property line, no fence, he just knew when to stop.
