i have down sized my scoop for 2008 - new one rolled in today

bought one of kevin reilly's new 709bal. S/S models and had him add in another extra handle for working the waves this summer.

my old reilly's scopp was 7" and weight in at a shade over 9 lbs. - this new 6" dia. model comes in just about 7 lbs..........

maybe i can find some gold this weekend in the bottom of it...................maybe

Max, you have a nice scoop there. Have you looked at the Sunspot Stealth? It's the one I use for the water wading. For dry sand I like a sturdy screen sifter type with a long handle.

that is one great scoop and it did work really well here, but workingin the waves the wooden handle like to have beat my leg to death.................the waves would knock it around bad

worked great in the damp zone and shallow surf....................i kept it about a week back in 2004 - i had chuck add the top to it

Max, yes in the surf it can move around and even drag you out to sea if caught in an undertow. The top over it greatly helps keep rings and stuff inside in the heavy waves. It is heavy too, but if it wasn't it wouldn't hold up.

I picked this one up this summer when my Monster scoop snapped. I like it! (a lot). Looks heavy but it's not. It's also easier on my shoulder in the wet sand.

I had one of these rounded handles jobs years ago. I forget the name, but the handle was very handy for pointing the scoop down and rotating it forward you. Mine was stolen by another hunter from my truck. That's how I discovered the Sunspot.

Let us know how you like .I'm in market as well I have stealth scoop and I like it a lot but ,. its gets a little heavy this time a year dragging it behind me the wet sand ,I'll use it more this summer when I'm chest deep . Guzz1

Gravedigger How do you like the new scoop ..I want to downsize as well. I'm gonna order one here in a few days I'm using sunset scoop . Its just little bulky in the dry . I'm gonna keep it for deeper water hunting . I need to get something for the shallows. I think that scoop you just bought might work for me.. thanks guzz1
