I hope I am not getting greedy..

Over the last couple days I've sold junk for premium troy ounces. Why? I really don't know why.. I guess I just wanted to. I hope I am not getting greedy.. Anyone else ever trade up?

Traded ~18.2 troy ounces of junk for ~12.6 troy ounces of premium (Grizzly, Kookaburra, Koala, couple bars, 3 colorizes Eagles, black bear, and some foreign silver to switch things up a bit..

Am I stupid?

I didn't lose ANYTHING since it was free in the first place...

Now if Silver drops to $20 and I buy a couple ounces, I might break even in the trade

I say to buy what makes you happy! Since it was "free" (face value) and you use that to purchase bullion or higher grade coins, cool. You did great! I personally use my money from recycling cans, copper and other scrap to buy bullion and that makes me happy, too. Kind of like "free money".

Kind of. Maybe not QUITE that much. The coins will always hold their premium... So if a coin is $60 with silver at $40, when silver rises to $45, the premium will follow.

If you are asking us about the wisdom of this trade, I would rather have 18.2 oz in coin silver than 12.6 oz in premium. If the price of silver doubles than the coin silver is worth more that the premium.

Yep you are right. I just wanted to spoil myself a bit I guess.. Now I have to keep up CRHing and make up for the loss in the trade. Maybe I will get 4 nice boxes on Thursday that will make up for it!

I have a very eery feeling that you are about to be right near me, if not right at my base. If you would rather me not know, I completely understand.

The only thing I wouldn't have bought was the colorized eagles... I've had a hard time in the past selling those. I ended up taking the paint off the ones I've gotten. Otherwise, like you said those coins all have good premiums on them.

I don't have any intentions to trade at the moment, but if I did it'd probably be for gold. Silver just gets to be a pain to lug around if you have a few hundred oz of it.
