I H'S - Barber - and a wee bit-o-Gold
Last week I missed my turn so I had to turn around so I pulled into this big parking lot that was in back of these large office complex's . Off to the rear of one of the buildings was this wooded area about 200ft by 300ft with a retention pond area in the center. I thought to myself that those trees look quite old and I should M D one day.
Today was that day......Found $4.04 in clad from a small grassy area. I must have found 3 or 4 3coin spills
and 5 or 6 2 coin spills for a total of 44 coins. I know there is a lot more there too. ODD PLACE to find that many coins. Some public parks don't even hold that many coins...
Next I went over to an OLD SCHOOL in a near by town. My best silver coin was found there last year along with other good finds.
I decided today that I was going to dig those NOT so Strong Signals. The fist signal that was week but good on one side and broken up on the other side turned out to be a 1912 wheat at 7 inches. I was on to something here.
Next signal was the same this time it was a 1919S wheat. Then I got a weak slightly broken up signal and it read 72 - 78 VDI at 7.5 inches It turned out to be a 1910 Barber Dime laying straight up and down. I forgot to get a picture of it near the edge of the hole. The next iffy signal was the 1902 I H at 7 inches. Then I got a signal that was a bottle cap at 58 VDI I almost past it but I went back over it and pinpointed it at 8 inches. I thought that no bottle cap is going to come in at 8 inches so I dug it and at the bottom of the hole after probing a bit was an 1898 I H
Almost forgot the WEE BIT-O-GOLD Pen Tip ( it's marked 14k )
What A GREAT DAY..... Try listening to those weaker and not so good signals. Go over the target several time and in different directions and you will be SURPRISED at what you dig..
The first pics are of the parking lot wooded area to show you how strange of a spot this was...
Enjoy DPSB
