I lost my pay streak did anyboby find it!

Well it seems that all good things must come to an end! This past weekend went back up north to my favorite spot. Lack of rain makes it almost impossible to dredge so in goes the sluice. Been working the edge of a bench for most of the summer finally got to the end of it. Alas no more gold went every which way trying to find where it went none to be found. However I did get some gold before I finished the spot. It has been fun especially with the grave robbers or gold gulls which ever you choose. The ones that are too lazy to go find there own spot or think you got rich there LOL! I basically want to thank them for removing all the over-burden and rocks for me! It's sorta funny there was only one type of sands that held gold above it nothing below the same. I found it by accident it was a streak about 12"deep by3' wide by 20' long and all the robbers and gulls either dug the very top or dug to china after I already got the good stuff teach them. Ended up with 7.12 grams after everything was said and done. Not to bad for a few yards of dirt! sorry, spelled body wrong

D 94 do you find gold detecting. See thats all you have for equipment. Have you found any gold in Maine. My wife would like to try detecting. Gold"s mostly real fine. Must be hard to find. Or do you just look for treasure. Did you find the facebook page.

I don't detect for gold. I have a keen sluice, many gold pans, classifiers, various tools (crevicing) and a recirculating mini high banker. I have not looked for gold in maine mostly because I am kind of spoiled with the gold I have dug in Oregon and California. I like the coarse stuff! Lol! But finding even a little is fun. I did find the Facebook page but I'll need my wife to help as I stay off Facebook and as a result really suck at navigating it. I mostly just want to get my 11y old son digging and away from his iPad.

I see where your coming from. I do find bigger gold in Maine. But nothing like out west. And not near as much. I now what you mean about facebook. Took me a while to figure it out. Not bad to know the way around an I pad. Pretty soon other than a job that requires labor. It will be done using a I pad. Even a college education we be taught on an I pad or computer. Very Sad Very sad

Yeah, it's undeniable these smartphones and iPads are where everything's going. Don't get me wrong, I love this technology, but I think kids need to be out in the woods, rivers, streams and climbing mountains. Needs to be balanced out.
