I made the 1700's coin club!! 1/2 Reale!!

:headbang::headbang: I am a member of the 1700's coin club baby!!!:hello2::headbang: This was literally my 2nd signal of a short 2 hour hunt. First signal was a beer bottle cap. My ATPro gave off a solid coin hit at about 4 inches down. I dug my hole and saw a glint of silver pop out. I looked down and saw what looked like pillars and I knew...SPANISH silveR!:headbang: OH my goodness I was so happy. I took my phone camera out and shot a video, but my microphone is acting up so no audio! I will post that to youtube in a bit. Anyway. This is my oldest coin to date and my first Spanish Silver and my first 1700's coin. I am feeling like a :rocks::rocks:!!!!! Check out the blue toning this coin has. Amazing. Welcome on board bud! I wish you many many more. I remember my first 1700's copper), but my first silver was dug many years ago...it was also a 1/2 reale.

go get some more!

Dan

congrats on joining the 1700s club! For reference, it's spelled "real"...no "e" on the end. You'll always remember your first 1700s silver. Mine was also a half real, 178?. It holds a special place!

testing123 thank you for the clarification on the real spelling.

Jay - I'll defer on that one, but I'd definitely be interested in a 1500s club. I've dug 8 Elizabeth I hammered sixpences dating between 1563 and 1594, and 7 of them came from one site. I've also recovered 2 jettons from the 1580s. It's gonna be hard to go earlier than that, but I'll keep trying. <img src="http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=1001728"/>

DAYUMN!!!! (Jaw hits floor). Bro you already won....

Awesome find!!. Good job hitting the 1700's silver. I hope many more find their way under your coil

Welcome to the club. You happened to find a nice one too. I started hunting older sites and found more Spanish silver in the last year than in the previous 30 years combined including 2 - 2 reales and 5 half reales. Spanish silver is fun to find.

Hell yeah bro! Big congrats and welcome to the club! Found my first Spanish silver a few weeks ago. 1782 Reale. I acted like a lil school girl :-)
Hopefully we can join the 1600s club soon

Congratulations! Very nice!

Thanks everyone. I wanted to find one of these for so many years. It has been a couple of months ago, but I till can not believe I found a Spanish Silver coin. I honestly have to buckle down and do some more research in this area. I know there has to be more coins in the area. Once it gets cooler and Vegetation dies off I'm back in the woods. Thank everyone for commenting.

All i can say is, "WOW!"

It's an awesome feeling holding Spanish silver! You're dead on about the thick vegetation. I've got tons of sites that I need to hit when it thins out. I can almost hear the buried treasure calling to me :-)

Nice digs . Thanks for the pics
