I made the 1700's coin club!! 1/2 Reale!!

:headbang::headbang: I am a member of the 1700's coin club baby!!!:hello2::headbang: This was literally my 2nd signal of a short 2 hour hunt. First signal was a beer bottle cap. My ATPro gave off a solid coin hit at about 4 inches down. I dug my hole and saw a glint of silver pop out. I looked down and saw what looked like pillars and I knew...SPANISH silveR!:headbang: OH my goodness I was so happy. I took my phone camera out and shot a video, but my microphone is acting up so no audio! I will post that to youtube in a bit. Anyway. This is my oldest coin to date and my first Spanish Silver and my first 1700's coin. I am feeling like a :rocks::rocks:!!!!! Check out the blue toning this coin has. Amazing. Welcome to the club! That one has nice detail too. That will be a find you will never forget. Glad you got a good photographic record of the recovery!

Also have video. No audio. My microphone on iPhone broke when I dropped it....You can tell I was happy!

Congrats that's quite a coin! Detail & condition are awesome!

Did you get your happy dance on video?

Close enough that'll do !!!

As you can see from the video I was pumped!

I would first like to say CONGRATULATIONS!! Not sure a coin that old will ever come my way out here in West Texas, so I will just enjoy vicariously through you. Thanks for sharing.

El remolino I sure hope a coin this old OR older lands under your coil like it did mine. Freaked me out! I'm still on cloud nine. I hope I can find another like it to show you guys!

Not only did you join the 1700's club, but you did it in style. That coin is in really nice shape and best of all, no hole! Pre-1800 coins have the bad habit of coming out of the ground holed, so you really lucked out!

FreebirdTim I am still amazed. One of those finds that you think about for days. 216 years old. Simply amazing. I have a feeling that this coin has a direct link to the First Governor of the Natchez Territory. Manuel Gayoso. His house is 500 yards from where I found this coin. Unreal.

This is why this hobby is so great, Zax. We can hold something that hasn't been held for generations. I love to imagine what life was like for that last person. GL!

Awesome! Great coinage. Into the club with style. Hopefully I'll join that club soon! Keep up the great work. - Chuck

Super Find!
Be proud, you did good!
I was standing five feet away from my buddy,
who dug an 1817 Spanish (silver) coin - about the size of a quarter.
how many Reals is that?

Eyemustdigtreasure this is a 1/2 reale. A little smaller than a dime I believe.

That's awesome! How long have you been detecting? Sounds like you really do your homework,, I've only been at it about 6 weeks but I'm learning fast that homework is the key. Found my 4th silver today, a '44 war nickel (I was stoked about that). Still trying to break into the 1800's here in West Virginia :)

Hope you find another real soon!!

Cladzilla I have been detecting for 8-9 years now. Really just stumbled onto this coin. Was in the tree line and got a solid coin signal. Dug the plug and this was looking at me when I cleared the dirt away. I hope you find you some nice West Virginia relics and coins soon!

That one sure is a beauty - it sure wasn't circulated much before it was dropped! Very nice spanish silver!

Thats a great coin. Congratulations

Sent from my iPhone using TreasureNet

Congratulations,I would do a cartwheel if I found one of those!

Coilygirl if it wouldn't have been raining and wet I probably would have!
