Bruce - i gave the smaller version of the SnS scoop a spin on friday after work

it did a good job on the 22's

sand sifted right thru. it fast

i plan on trial runs today of the bigger model SnS and the 6.5" sunspot.

It seems we always need a better scoop that works in all types of bottom conditions and the Sunspot does the job very well. If the holes are too small the larger rocks and shells don't fall through. Too Big and the .22 shells an such fall through. We just need to own many scoops and detectors if we's gonna enjoy the hobby to the fullest.

I've been thinking of getting the small and lighter Sunspot Stealth myself.

I got this one from steve and have been using it this summer. Where did you get the square post handle The one's I looked at didn't fit well at all... I went with a round one and it fit nice and snug. No problems with it and it's pretty light weight to other comparable scoops. I paid 100 bucks without the handle.

two boxes came, one were scoops and one were handles..............

appear to be ash............4footers, square at the bottom.

i dug alot of targets sat. with the bigger one and the handle and pulling back to get the target out seemed to work great. this type of scoop almost eliminates the need for a floating sifter.

Hey GDM. I am assuming the one with the square holes is a prototype. Can you tell me more about it. That is what I have been waiting on. I lose so many small targets. Well, I don't lose them but it takes me forever to recover them because they keep falling though the holes in my scoop and I have to try to eventually get them on the nose of the scoop and baby them to the surface.

I would purchase one of these in a heartbeat if they were available. I had resorted to thinking about building my own but if this is available anytime in the near future, I would jump on it.

What's your thoughts on the 2 types of scoops(SnS vs. Sunspot) you tried? Do they weigh about the same? One seem to work better than the other?
