I need your Ideas

my 20c - he wants your shark for the same reasons why you should be keeping / swinging it :headbang:

It would be foolish to trade for the White's when the Sand Shark is the better detector.

I wouldn't see any deference there both all metal.

First thing, the Surfmaster II is not a PI, it is a VLF.

If you've used them you would see a big difference. A White's PI comes with either a diver coil that makes it tough to swing on dry sand, or a standard coil that wants to float in the water. I've never tried a Dual Field so I can't comment on that one.

Depthwise I'd give the edge to White's. I much prefer the Sand Shark though, the threshold stays very steady in the waves here. Can't say the same for the White's.

If his machine functions as well as or better than yours, why would he offer a trade?

That alone would make me pause.

I would worry that he doesn't know what he's selling you. The Whites Surfmaster II is a Whites Classic in the waterproof case of the Whites P.I. So better for freshwater where you have more need for some discrimination.

Could be the Surfmaster P.I. version 2 but then he should be calling it a Surfmaster Pro.
