I'm in Florida and I see some of the point that you are making. and you're correct about location. the amount of quality material is definitely more concentrated closer to the quarries. I've also seen a lot of comparatively simple paleo artifact as compared to later artifacts made in settlements where food was abundant and teamwork allowed the time. Sorry about getting off the subject.

Nice find. Do you know the material? Sure looks like flint ridge from Ohio from the pics...

I'm not sure on lithic, but it is pretty common on the river. Problem is, I'm not on the river.???

Went back to this site today with little luck. I still can't put anything in context. These are the only flaked pieces I found today.

My next find was this cobble stone that looks worked down to me, but has been damaged so bad, that it's hard to tell.

Next piece looks similar to a clay bead that I found on the river. Once again, broken. The drilled out area seems to show wear, but could be my over examining has created what my mind wants to see. What do you guys see?

The last piece could just be a dirt clot. I brought it in because it looks like it has a seem around it. I was thinking trade pipe, but it is too far gone for me to determine. Here it is any way.

As you can see, I found no nice lithic today. But possibly some heated clay. By the way, how would one go about cleaning clay? Thanks for viewing!

Nice blade! I have only found 1 in the last 3 yrs. I have never found anything but the 1 in that area not even a flake since. Strange cause you would think there would be more in that spot. And on the others...stick to the flaking finds.

This piece is the only "significant" piece I have from that site. I have only been there twice. I don't know what to make of it as of now.
