Anytime that you find a gold colored earring with a gold colored post....it is usually the real thing......most of your plated stuff will have a stainless steel (silver colored) post.....HH........Brian

I once tossed some canslaw at the garbage before leaving a park and a small ring flew away with it...
went and looked in the barrel... YUK! it was NOT worth it...
