Here is a reality show based on a Race for Gold that is in the works....... The Race For Gold

GG , I hope it isn't another amazing race with them having to stop & do tasks to get clues
they will lose me in the first episode, that is how much I despise the amazing race.

It's been shopped to networks for 5 years now, so I really doubt it will be picked up anyway.
I would watch it though if it makes it on TV.

Not sure who it came from but I always say: "It's better to sit on my porch with MEMORIES than DREAMS".

And I have been blessed with many memories most will never know like mining in Alaska, California, New Hampshire, Maine, Quebec and now Greenland. And I may be heading to Argentina next winter to help set up and run a gold mining & guiding concession this winter!

Everywhere I have been I find that people, good or bad, are the true treasure.

Nah, if they say season II is on I'll go back! I still have a little money buried in the yard... and there's a lot more to see. The thrill of the hunt is never quenched by a single bullet!

As far as the show, it is reality TV edited by non prospectors. I find it funny most here are of the same frame of mind I was, before going to Greenland. Many questions and curiosities. Remember this though, 50+ days cannot be fully covered in less than 6 one hour shows!

Still, I hope everyone enjoyed the show.

What did the Rubies end up being worth?

I would think if there was a season 2 they should be Locked & Loaded by now
Or does Greenland's Winter break in July ?

Jeff, winter breaks about mid june there. Still crunching numbers for a return trip...

I for one enjoyed the show. Saw every episode. Was into it for the scenery. Fantastic. However, one suggestion, if you do a second season, leave the complaining Americo guy at home. Just my thought. I already know too many people like him. Great show guys. I didn't see or hear hear anybody yell "freeking" one time. Hope you come back next year.

I wonder?? i wonder how any of us would look to everyone else if we went out to a foreign land and had several months to "strick it rich" while being filmed?? when your prospecting,and not finding the "motherlode" we all would look...............kinda dumb!atleast they hit some rubies for them to go back to mine next year!they done their prospecting, now its time to start mining next year. ive done/said the same things as everyone else here while sitting back in my LazyBoy recliner drining coffee in my warm dry home watching my 55 inch HDTV.so think about it.... they are out there doing something while we sit here ..........................................

I haven't seen anyone calling them stupid or anything like that. Some of them had no business being on this exploration, and only the editors made this show about "striking it rich" . This was prospecting, and they found places where there is not viable gold. That's part of prospecting. Who thinks they looked dumb because they didn't find gold?

what I don't understand is if Greenland is such a young geological landscape is why everyone wasn't equipped with metal detectors. Seems the best bet would have been these...Leave the sluices and dredges at home... Imagine how the rushers would have done with just detectors.

Not all gold formations produce nuggets. Most only produce very small gold.
