I watched last season, Thought was pretty good, if anything just seeing them out in the remote country was something... I did see a few mins of season 2 where one of them was going through the logistics of hiring a helocopter. I should have gone to flight school, 3k an hr ! $6k spent on dead run just to get the copter to and from...they were talking 100k total. Probably reasonable for a helicopter in Greenland, but man...you better find a lot of gem's to re-coup that cost.

These shows are so hard to watch. You would think these shows would see the mistakes others have made and make changes. I think they must be selling the scripts from one show to the other show. Change the names and bingo we have a ready made TV show with DRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMA. Did any of guys every checkout Google Earth to locate a path, check the elevations, etc. before leaving the USA? Again its all about adding drama that could be avoided. Hell with all the helicopter rides why not take a low pass run and see first hand where one needs to go. Maybe they don't have a GPS at their disposal... I rate this show on par with the other torture gold show with the four sisters. Not even sure that show is still on.

all I keep thinking is Why didn't they set up camp at the Site ? :dontknow:

torture gold show with the four sisters ? I forgot about that fiasco
I only lasted a few seconds in the first episode & gave up.
apparently everyone knew that was a joke & it got canceled.

I liked the first season. The setting, the prospecting, the adventure.

They start this one walking through town saying everyone is a claim jumper and they're being stared at because of the rubies. Then they misplace a part, and get followed by a boat.

Almost dying because the fog and the navigation equipment failure.

Really. I mean. Really.

Every single producer I have spoken with was only interested in character based dramas, with the treasure hunting/prospecting merely a backdrop for that to go on. They had zero interest in a documentary type show that focused on the actual mining or treasure hunting processes. I don't think we will ever see the kind of show we want unless we make it ourselves.

Hopefully on the next episode there will be less drama and more adventure along with finding some gold and gems. :icon_thumleft:

Anyone else notice at the end of Season 2 Episode 2 that the helicopter pilot appeared to be holding GPS coordinates to the Red Zone?

Nice catch, anyone try to see if they're the real coordinates just for fun? I'm not planning on going there.

One set took me to sweden, and then the same set with out the minus mark in front of the 49 took me to the southern tip of Greenland.

At least the scenery is different. I'll likely never afford to go there, so I watch the show for the scenery. Dennis
