Hi,
I cannot say why it happened, but today was one of the weirdest metal detecting days of my life. If you read on, you will see a very strange theme emerging for the day!
I went to the front door of a fraternity house at the University of Oregon and asked permission to hunt their front yard this weekend. The first thing I found, lying on the surface, brand new in its original package, was a condom. Disgusted but not surprised, I persisted through the hunt and found just about nothing. The ground was remarkably clean. absence of targets caused me to leave and search another place.
So far, one condom, but wait, there's more!
Next I traveled a few blocks into the University neighborhood. The sun was hot, the ground was hard, and the findings were remarkably sparse. I did find a silver ring, kind of dirty and a little bit bent up, but no wheat cents and certainly no silver coins. The heat finally got the better of me and I headed for home. I got a couple blocks and, always vigilant for pedestrians, looked up and walking toward me is a totally naked guy.
Yeah, the full monty. He seemed nonchalant, just walking along. I about drove into a tree.
So now I got a condom and a naked guy. The theme begins to emerge, no?
Only around bed time do I remember the silver ring. I go out to the car to get it and bring it into the house for a cleaning. What is that shape? I can't figure it out. It's not an animal, it's not a bird, what the heck is it?
Then suddenly I realize, "hey, that little bit of it almost looks like a butt." "Hey! That part looks like a girl on her back" Suddenly I yell out "Oh my gosh! They're 'doing it' on my ring!"
So, that's the theme for the day--one condom, one naked guy, and a sexually explicit ring, all on the same day.
