I'll drink to that!

Bill didn't drink. He always said he would much rather sit around and talk about baseball with youngsters as opposed to grownups. I'd be very shocked to find out he took anything; he was a pretty straight shooter. Had all the right stuff but didn't womanize either.

Personally, I like the other Bill better. Bill Lee. The Spaceman. He drank, smoked weed, jogged before it was cool, womanized, ran a book for the guys in the clubhouse, and liked to shoot guns too. Plus he quoted Ghandi and despised Richard Nixon and Don Zimmer the gerbil. He was my kind of guy - a liberal with a gun and a good sense of fun. Plus he won 17 games for the Red Sox three years in a row. Would have won more but ruined his shoulder in a fight with Mickey Rivers. And he even tossed an Eephus pitch in the 1975 World Series that Tony Perez hit for a homerun in Fenway Park. Last time I saw try that stunt attempted. It didn't fool Ted Williams in 1947, and it didn't get by Perez either.

I love baseball and its characters.

Ted Williams,shortstop..1947,just got back from a three year stint in the war, that is detication in baseball and an attitude for the times that where.

I'd like to have the strength of one and a half men my size and exray vision like superman and see gold and buried treasure in the ground.
Ah, the dream of a life time. Fantisy is fun, but don't mess with mine and...well I'll leave it there

Williams a shortstop? No. He was a left fielder and pitched on one occasion. No infield. Johnny Pesky was the shortstop in 47. 307 lifetime hitter. No power.

Baseball = girls game.Back on subject please!!! :tongue3:
