I'm shooting blanks here people!! (Updated)
Since the weather has broke here for the better in North Carolina, I have finally gotten out to use my recently aquired Garrett Infinium LS. Problem is, every sight I have hit, either has nothing to produce, or is laden with trash and nothing else, or its a dead end.
Please allow me to elaborate on the details.................
First hunt: gained permission to do a farm field which is split into two sections, I hit the far end first. Results, nothing but a recently lost silver plated cake/pie server, 2 pistol shell casings (.45 and 38 special) and a rusted nut, in a 5 hour hunt.
Second hunt: gained access to a historically registered general/dry goods store (now a house). Hunted it for 3 hours, results: a flattened modern bullet, nails, a broken plow/tiller point, and various small scrap pieces of steel. Come on now, not one single coin at a general store
Afterwards I went back to hunt the same property from my first hunt, I hit the second field, results: a large old rusty lever spring! I finally talked to the old farmer and asked him specifically the history of his property, he told me that while plowing he would find pottery shards and arrowheads!! No wonder, it was a Cherokee Village site at one time, so no wonder why there are no metal relics there. He failed to mention that before. The old farmer then suggested that I check the woods behind his house, he told me of where an old house was located in the woods, and that the old original trail (the main highway used during colonial times) ran through there in a gully, and that I would see it if I found the old exposed spring, they used it as a watering hole for thier horses.
Third hunt: I went looking for the old home and the dirt highway, results: the house no longer exists, and there was no trace of where it was ever located. I did manage to find the small section of highway and that old spring, lucky me right? WRONG, a massive amount of fill dirt has been pushed into the gully by a bulldozer when a new access road had been graded to open up new lots for sale!!!
I have countless of other really old places to hit, but they are all owned by people who live out of state, so there is no way to track them down and ask for permission to hunt!
I feel like I am about to lose my mind here, any suggestions?
I really dont want to get into hunting soccer fields and tot-lots.

I get so upset with people who don't appreciate history and only think about themselves.
